I Knew Something Was Up!!

I wouldn't say I was shocked when my closest friend, Katie, told me while tu-tu making that she and her family were moving :( I kind of knew something was up but still I had just hoped it was the stress of all the traveling back and forth that seemed different. But, still having the knowledge that there might be a move in the works did not ease the blow of the news. It was just a year ago when my other "bestie" moved and what a painful move it was. Not just for me but for my whole family, I thought I would never be able to find a friend for me or my boys like I had with The Green's BUT I was wrong. I became ever closer with Katie and more and more each day she was my "go to girl" for just about everything. If I had a bad day....I called her, had great news....called her. We talk just about everyday and sometimes quite a few times a day :) How can another friend be leaving? I am, of course, VERY happy for the Surgala's and I can clearly see that this is the best decision for them but I can't help to be sad about the many things that will be changing. My neighbor will be gone......the BEST neighbor ever!!! My son's friends are leaving.......2 of the sweetest children I have ever met. And my friend is leaving me here with a bunch of "desperate housewife" drama!! Who will I meet in the backyard for a drink and a secret smoke?? Who will I laugh with about all the craziness that goes on here in SJGCC??
Well, I know in my heart that Katie and her family will be in our life forever. They may not be here everyday but we will always be friends. It isn't often that you meet someone that you connect with but I have with the Surgala family. I only wish them the best of luck with their move and a little relaxation at the other side of the move. If anyone deserves it....they do!!
I love ya Katie!!! I am going to miss you BIG TIME but can't wait to hear about the newest chapter in your life.

"Life Happens While You are Busy Making Other Plans".......John Lennon

And is that quote truer than anything I have ever read before. Life is happening so quickly for me it seems. So, much has happened since my last post. Ashton turned 6 ( I can't believe it) and we celebrated by taking him to Sea World and the Dinosaur Cafe'. We all had so much fun that we turned around for Logan's 4th birthday and headed to the Nick Jr. hotel, went back to the Dino Cafe' and then back to Sea World. It is amazing how much the boys just adore Sea World. Just to see the smiles and the excitement on their faces is so worth it.

I ran in the Royal Gala 5K with my sister in law and just had the best weekend ever. It was so much fun having some family adult time and I have never laughed so hard in my life. It is so important to take time for yourself.....and I am really trying harder this year to make more and more time for me and Waine.
I spent alot of March and April training for Muddy Buddy! I did it again this year but had a new partner.....the best partner ever!! May 9th - Mothers Day weekend - was the BIG day! It seemed like SO much was against us running this race but I truly believe that we supported each other so much through the issues that faced us that we came through on top. It was such an amazing weekend filled with MANY laughs, lots of fun, some spa treatments, lots of drinks and a little mud :) I was almost a little depressed when the weekend was over and wanted to do it all over again. I cannot wait til next year b/c it can only get better and better. Thanks Katie for being such a GREAT partner and friend through the whole thing.

Ashton did baseball this season again and he was just awesome! We switched to a new league and what a difference did it make. He learned so much and had a TON of fun. It seemed like the season would never end but part of me didn't want it to end for his sake. He really started to enjoy it at the end. His team when into playoffs and ended the season amazingly. Go Pirates!

Although I was not feeling so hot for Ashton's Mother's Day Tea (sent Grandma in my place....boo!), I was able to go to Logan's at Precious Promises. It was so sweet :) He was wearing a suit jacket and had on a tie and had tea and cake and ice cream all ready to serve me. He and his classmates also sand the cutest songs. Such amazing memories we are creating. Logan's 3 year old preschool year ended in the beginning of May. They had an end of the year celebration with all the grades singing adorable songs. I can't believe my baby will be in VPK next year. Such a big step.....the last year of preschool.

Waine and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. Just seems like yesterday that we were planning our getaway wedding in Jamaica. It has been a great 8 years!! I am so lucky to be married to such a great man who cares so much about his family. He works so hard to make a wonderful life for us and I truly appreciate everything he does. I love you Waine!
And so that ends the updates for now.......busy few months and looking forward to a much more relaxing summer. Thinking of beaches and Margarita's already :)

Welcome 2009!!!

So, another year has past! We had an amazing Christmas but not short of the drama :) Now that 2009 is here.....I realized I have failed to think of any New Year's resolutions. I guess I have been too busy. So, now that I am sitting at my desk I am going to write a few things down....not so much resolutions but just things I want to accomplish. 1st - I would like to get all my doctor's appt's this year (and no Katie, I do not mean my boob job appt.). I need to actually make the appt's and then go to them. Then I would like to really put some time into my house and not so much putting $$ into it but really just cleaning all those places that never get cleaned like the grout, the doors and baseboards. I want to take care of our most important investment. Most importantly, I want to have some fun with my family and friends. I just want to send all the drama away back to 2008 and start clean with just good ole hard work and good times this year. Drama Free!! So, to all my friends and family....here is wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!!

A Broken Arm at only 3 :(

So, Logan broke his arm.....not totally a shocker :) he is always running around jumping on things, falling off things and just acting like a wild boy. On December 21st, he was riding his bike around and just fell off it like his always does but this time was different......he couldn't move his arm and was screaming in pain. It was the saddest thing ever, he couldn't even lift his arm to suck his thumb. We took him to our doctor who then sent us on to Wolfson's Hospital. Sure enough my baby's arm was broken. Now, I have no experience with this so I was thinking he would be in a sling for a week. OH NO!! I was soooooooooooo wrong. He had to get on the soft cast and where a sling until December 24th and then from that point on for 6 weeks he is in his regular cast that is an adorable red even though he REALLY wanted pink :) He can't get it wet or be near sand or mulch so no pool, beach or park. He is doing GREAT with it and barely knows it is on him. I on the other hand am so nervous about everything, watching his every move. So many tell me that this won't be the last accident. Not so sure I want to go through more of this but I guess that is the future I hold having 2 boys. So, 4 more weeks left and going strong. WE will have a cast signing party the last week with all of his friends....I am soooooooooooo looking forward to that week :)
